This paper titled: Evaluation of the PDC bit's life on Granite rock, aim to give a better understanding on how drill bit wear from the granite rock.PDC bits are made up of polycrystalline diamond, synthesized diamond grit with a catalyst under high pressure and temperature,it go under the fabrication process, end to have high hardness, resistance to impact and wear. And granite is known as an abrasive and rock with high strength. In order to carry this work the following were done;1 the study of Physical – Mechanicalproperties of the granite rock and PDC bits through point of load index and Uniaxial compressive test.2 analysis of forces induced by the drill bit on the rock when load is applied to simulate the degree of wear over 50,80,90,110 RPM respectively. The results from this tests were based on a 10 min drilling interval, where by at wear rate was as follow: PDC lost 0.000335 g at 50 RPM,0.00041 at 80 RPM,0.00039 at 90 RPM and 0.00059 at 100 RPM.After about 10 experiments of drilling with 100 RPM,the PDC cutter fails, and the crack continue to grow in within the polycrystalline diamond layer. In conclusion;Good result were gained when the RPM was optimum(90 RPM),from the experimental results it shows that more cut depth was recorded as well as less material loss from the bit. It's then noted that the same speed provide higher performance and lifetime of the PDC drilling bits. The life of the bit model have been also determined where the following parameters were considered;Abrasiveness of the rock, weight on the bit and the rod Rotational Speed.
