The existing reservoir modeling method based on the theory of geostatistics can characterize the reservoir quality to a certain extent. However, due to the limitation of data and the lack of geological factors in the modeling of carbonate rocks due to the limitation of data, the simulation results can not respond to the key factors affecting the quality of reservoirs, such as space, sediment supply and palaeogeography The The modeling method based on the deposition process can take into account the terrain, gravity, friction, kinetics, ocean currents, deposition and erosion rates of the submarine(or lake bottom),while also incorporating stochastic components to account for reservoir uncertainties. The characterization of reservoir quality is more acceptable to geological personnel. With the deepening understanding of the carbonate sediments, the forward modeling of carbonate rocks provides a new method for accurately quantifying the heterogeneity of carbonate reservoirs. Many stratigraphic forward modeling models have successfully modeled large-scale carbonate stratigraphic frameworks that successfully explain the formation mechanisms of various carbonate formations.Based on the study of the principle and method of forward modeling,Dionisos was selected as the simulation tool, and the carbonate formation of Shu'aiba Formation in Shaybah oilfield was taken as the study area. The forward modeling method based on deposition process was applied to carbonate The simulation results show that the simulation results show that the sedimentary concepts of the study area and the hard data are realized by comparing the geological analysis with the sedimentary forwards.Which can greatly reduce the uncertainty of the model and provide a solid foundation for the prediction and evaluation of reservoir quality in the study area.
