The Xintang landslide which located in the Right bank slope of the Qingjiang Shuibuya Reservoir in EnShi Hubei is a formation old age of slip the formation of giant bedrock landslide The morphology surface of it showed a large protrusion of the tongue terrain,Its5 front elevation is about 350m and the posterior of it is margin On the southeast side of it is the cliff whose top elevation is about 800-870m,the length of the landslide is about 1720m and the average width is about2897.5m what's more the width of the trailing is about 2785m and width of the leading edge is about 3010m.The average thickness of the landslide is about 115.36 and the volume is about 57492×104m3.There are different point of views about the formation of.the Xintang landslide for the complex geological conditions and the huge scale of it.On the basis of qualitative analysis of the formation mechanism of the landslide using the transfer coefficient method and FLAC3D value of simulation in the limit equilibrium method to study and understand landslide's formation mechanism and failure modes,The results of this study are as follow:(1)The main inducing factor of Xintang landslide happened are the followingsa)Hydro-geological conditions:the landslide area is located in the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone,and the rainfall concentrated which created the conditions of the pressure and uplift after the edge of the water for the occurrence of landslides.b)Topography:the relief after the landslide before the steep landform characteristics and the leading and trailing edges gap gave birth to the potential energy of the landslide occurred.Qingjiang and the west side of landslides-East ear ditch erosion and development,creating a landslide two facing the empty landscapec)The formation lithology and the nature of the rock mass:Qixia group of carbonaceous shale to create conditions of the slip zone for the occurrence of landslides leading to the slid:ing of the overlying rock rock carbonaceous shale.d)Structure and to stress;edge towards the development of the 40° high-angle fractures and landslide formation of the boundary conditions and the role of water channels.(2)The Xintang landslide deformation and failure process of the corresponding can be divided into four stages:the supergene transformation stage,aging deformation stage,the instability of the destruction stage and post-failure stage.(3)By the limit equilibrium transfer coefficient method calculated and determined that the Critical head landslide damage occurred was 50.7(m),namely the landslide reached the limits of balance so that the landslide damage occurred.(4)Landslide numerical simulations show that the natural and seismic conditions overall stability of the slope.However,in heavy rain conditions,when the posterior margin of head height of 51(m),the slope of the plastic zone and the shear strain throughout the landslide,the stability of the destruction.When the water pressure and he buoyant force of the trailing edge is dissipated in the role of tensile stress of the leading edge of the slider,the slope continue to campaign.Landslide deformation and failure are divided into the following two stages,from creep-crack to slip-the failure stage.Landslide damage-inducible factor is the role of rainfall.
