Yesanpo National Geopark of Hebei is located in the intersection of Taihangshan and Yanshan mountains,as well as the junction of the shanxi fault uplift and Yanshan platform folding zone.The Zijingguan deep fracture passes through the entire geopark,with abundant geoheritage resources.Based on the field geoheritage investigation and indoor study,this paper discusses the forming processes of geoheritage resources in Yesanpo national geopark in terms of general,structural and Quaternary geological theories.The geopark is rich in geoheritage resources,which could be divided into five major types and subtypes according to the forming dynamic factors and material basis.During the Mesoproterozoic Jixianian Period,this area was a shallow sea,deposited huge thick carbonates,which is the basic material of the landscapes in Bailixia scenic area.From the Cambrian to Ordovician,the geopark area was subsiding,the rocks dominated by limestone and wormkalk were deposited,which is the basic material of the landscapes in Yugu cave scenic area.During the Jurassic and Cretaceous,the geopark area had been subjected to intense tectonic and magmatic activities,forming the Dahenan rock mass which is turned to be the basic material of the tectonic geomorphology and traces in Longmentianguan scenic area.During the Neotectonic movement,the crust uplift strongly,the fault block in the western area uplifted in stepwise way,the structural erosion gorges were formed in the east area.This paper considers that the faults and joints formed in the Indosinian,Yanshanian,north and Himalayan movements are the controlling factors to form the present geomorphology.Geoheritage resources are unique and non-renewable,so their protection is one of the most important tasks for each geopark.In the compiling geopark plan,this paper starts from the geoheritage characteristics,analysing the forming conditions of potential geodisaters which might damage the geoheritage and threat the visitor safety,and considers that there might be four potential geodisasters-collapse,landslide,debris flow and flooding in the geopark.Then,this paper proposes that the SNS protective technology is good way to prevent the geoheritage combined with some engineering projects,and the disaster monitoring and alert measures should be strengthened,so the geoheritage would be well-protected and the geopark visitors would be safeguarded.
