The development of airborne gamma ray spectrometry has been carried out in Sanjiu areas of southern Hunan Province, which has obtained abundant data of airborne gamma ray spectrometry, which provides a scientific basis for the exploration of uranium resources in this area. But in the gamma ray spectrum data processing and anomaly determined, due to the use of traditional statistical methods, thus determining threshold when there exist certain deviation,it is necessary to re understanding and interpretation of the Sanjiu areas airborne gamma spectrum data. The introduction of fractal theory and method to the determination of the lower limit of the airborne gamma ray spectrum is of great help to the delineation of the gamma ray spectrum anomaly and the spatial location of the uranium deposit. The determination of the lower limit of the gamma ray spectrum is a key link in the application of airborne gamma spectrometry to uranium exploration. The traditional threshold calculation method for statistical method, which is based on the gamma ray normal or lognormal distribution of spectrum data,In this paper, for the content-area,content-circumference fractal calculation of the lower limit of the method,There is no need to verify the distribution of the data.In this paper, combined with the nuclear industry 230 Institute "Qin Hang metallogenic belt Hunan section 1: 5 million aeromagnetic data comprehensive interpretation and key aviation anomaly verification" project, base of the southern Hunan area aerial gamma ray spectrometer data,on the baseof successful experience in the application of fractal method in geochemical data, this paper studies the feasibility and effectiveness of the fractal method in the determination of the lower limit of airborne gamma energy spectrum. The results show that the lower limit of the aerial gamma-ray spectrum anomaly obtained by the fractal method is more realistic than the statistical method,Objective, delineation of the abnormal area and the actual situation more consistent, better ore prospecting. With the help of the MAPGIS platform, the fractal method is applied to the calculation of the lower limit of the airborne gamma energy spectrum. In the MAPGIS,the N(r)values corresponding to the r values at different scales are obtained. Then, the logarithm is taken in the logarithmic coordinate system and the two straight lines are fitted by the least squares method. The two interval is the lower limit. The fractal method is not affected by the high value in the process of calculation,it is more effective to delineate the abnormal area, and to clear the prospecting target area. The lower limit of the gamma-ray spectrum anomaly obtained by fractal method is reduced, but it does not miss the obvious anomaly. The delineated anomaly is in good agreement with the actual situation of the known mine and can be used to guide the prospecting of the unknown area.
