The copper ore, which can be smelted directly or after sorted, is decreasing, and the copper ore's grade is gradually reduce too, with the continuous mining and utilization. In order to obtain high recovery rate of copper ore, the grind size is decreasing and flotation reagents are increasing constantly, which led to the fine-grained, high basicity and high viscosity of copper concentrate. The filtration of copper concentrate becomes more difficult. In this paper, the pressure filtration process of copper concentrate and the regeneration of filter medium were discussed, so as to provide technical support and experimental basis for the practical problems in industrial production.For the problem of difficulty in the filtration of copper concentrate, the mechanism of filtering was analyzed and the physical properties of copper concentrate was measured, which show that the wide range of particle size distribution was the main cause of filtration difficulty. The effect of different filter additives on the copper concentrate filtering was discussed through experiments, and the filter additives which had the best filtering effect were obtained. In order to explain the different effects of different filter additives on filtering effect from the mechanism, the microstructure of filter cake were analyzed through the mathematical morphology. The results show that polymeric ferric sulfate has the most significant performance of the copper concentrate filtering. The filtration rate increased by 4.29 times, and the moisture content of filter cake reduced by 3.81 %, when the polymeric ferric sulfate content was 1 %. The problem of copper concentrate filtering was solved effectively.The filter cake structure of copper concentrate can be divided into three categories by adding different reagents. Filter cake structure ? is a hierarchical structure, its filtering performance is poorer; Filter cake structure ? is formed by the reduction of inter-atomic forces between particles or particle and liquid, which has a better filtering performance. Filter cake structure ? is formed by flocculation,and it has the best filtering performance. For the filter cake formed by flocculation, with the characteristic parameters increasing, the filtration speed become faster, and the moisture content of filter cake become lower, through analyzing the structure of filter cake by fractal theory. But the fractal theory isn't applicable for the cake structure which is formed by the reduction of inter-atomic forces between particles or particle and liquid.The optimal conditions were obtained for the regeneration and cleaning of the filter medium, through physical cleaning and chemical cleaning respectively. For the physical cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning has obvious promotion effect, and the lower frequency, the higher power, the ultrasound cleaning effect better; Washing temperature is also influential to cleaning effect, and the cleaning effect is best when 60 ?. For the chemical cleaning, acetic acid has the best effect in the single acid cleaning. The optimal combination of the cleaning agent was obtained on the foundation of single acid cleaning, through orthogonal test of different combination and ratio experiments. The optimal combination of the cleaning agent is 2.0 mol/L CH3COOH+ 0.5 mol/L HF+ 0.1 % JFC-E. For the filter cloth which has the poorest filter performance, the relative permeability of filter clot increased from 9 % to 63 %, washed by the cleaning agent. The problem of filter cloth which had to be replaced due to congestion can be solved.
