With the development of industrial technology, the unit failure in the production line has become the key to the development of iron and steel enterprises. For the complex structure of high-speed wire mill, heavy workload of the point inspection,and the high quality requirements of detection, it is difficult to check out the failure factors by relying on the users’ senses and experience. Therefore, it is essential to accurately identify the fault locations of the unit, by using the advanced fault diagnosis technologies and effective integrated fault diagnosis methods. This paper mainly employs the vibration analysis method for vibration monitoring and fault diagnosis of high speed wire mill.For frequent high speed wire mill fault, many fault types, leakage judgment, and misjudgment, it is resulting in fault diagnosis rate reducing. Based on these problems,Firstly, this paper investigated the off-line monitoring system and the arrangement of measuring points of the high speed wire mill. Secondly, the state of high speed wire mill was recognized and the trend was analyzed. Thirdly, the daily inspection system of high speed wire mill was understood, and its feasibility was analyzed combining with the actual situation. Finally, the main sensors and RH802 data acquisition system of high speed wire mill was comprehended. And then the RH802 data acquisition system was used to collect and process sign and to detect fault location and cause.On the basis of above studies, the roller bearing and gear faults of high-speed wire mill were investigated. The vibration analysis method was used to solve the bearing and gear faults of the high-speed wire mill. Under the harsh surroundings and high speed of unit, the early fault of the high speed wire mill may be drowned out by the noise, so, the traditional vibration analysis method was different to detect the early fault. In order to diagnose the early fault of high speed wire mill, this paper employed the EMD method which is decompose the vibration signal, and the mono component signal of instantaneous frequency with physical meaning can be obtained. Based on component reconstruction to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and improve the extraction of early fault of high-speed wire mill.
