With the rapid development of science and technology, people in all areas are vulnerable to the impact of electromagnetic radiation. As the main equipment that can protect people's safety from such radiation, more and more importance has been attached to electromagnetic shielding suits. However, there are very a few standards of the testing methods of shielding effectiveness of shielding suits at home and abroad. Therefore, providing reliable and effective references in order to develop a scientific and feasible test standard of shielding suits through a series of research has become an imminent problem.Firstly, starting from the calculation of flat plate material, combined with the simulation of whole body shielding suits, the differences between the shielding effectiveness based on the field and the shielding effectiveness based on SAR is analyzed. Compared with the shielding effectiveness derived from the two evaluation methods and place emphasis on the effect of whether there is filling materials or not on the two evaluation methods.Secondly, the multi-position shielding effectiveness testing system which is applicable to the test of complete shielding suits is established. In this system, a whole human body model in a semi-anechoic chamber is needed. On this basis, a variety of methods including simulation, actual test and exposure limits analysis are used to furtherly compare the shielding effectiveness of shielding shuits based on the field and based on SAR and to research the concrete influence of several factors on the shielding suits'shielding effectiveness test results. During the process, the average value of shielding effectiveness is compared. From the research, some conclusions showed below are drawn. For the position of receiving probe, it is better to place it at center of the model than to put it on the edge of the model; for the filling material, the test with filling material is more appropriate than that without such filling material; for different test parts, the head, chest and lower abdomen with low exposure limit and shielding effectiveness should be tested in the multi-position testing system and in contrast, the elbows and knees at limbs'not been test is also reasonable. Finally, the test system for electromagnetic goggles'separate shielding effectiveness test is established. On this basis, the effect caused by the factor that whether the special head model is made by conductive material for simulating human skin tissue on the result of shielding effectiveness when goggles are under test is studied. The result shows that in no filling material condition, using non-conducting model can lead to a serious distortion of the test results, so a head model of conductive film material should be used. But In the case that the model is full filled with materials, the effect that whether the model is a conductive material on the test results is quite not significant.
