Iron and steel is an indispensable industry for every countries to achieve the development of economy, and plate production has a pivotal role in steel industry. In order to improve the degree of automation of medium plate rolling production line, realizing the control of rolling gap and track of rolling production line seems to be extraordinarily important. This article will study from the following two aspects.Rolling gap control of medium plate mill is closely related to the gauge of medium plate. In view of the rolling gap control of rolling production line, this article focuses on predicting the value of rolling gap. Firstly, author introduces basic principle of AGC system,and concludes the factors influencing the value of rolling gap. Then author introduces the support vector machine(SVM) algorithm and genetic algorithm, writes the optimal program of parameters based on the genetic algorithm, and realizes the forecast of rolling gap in simulated program by using SVM algorithm.Track of rolling production line is the foundation and premise of the rolling production process automation. In this article, track of rolling production line is divided into three levels, including micro-tracking, macro-tracking and information tracking. Micro-tracking provides accurate position coordinates of plates and macro-tracking provides partition location and process status of plates, meanwhile information-tracking provides the rolling process information. Tracking of rolling production line will be realized combined with three levels above.For the track of plate rolling line, this article firstly introduces the condition of rolling production line and studies the main content that need to be kept track of, then designs the implementation of tracking system, including division of tracking function area, design of tracking data structure, design of and the means of system communication, and then author designs the structure of hardware and introduce the software programming method of tracking system. finally, the development of tracking system is completed.
