Hydro-cyclone has been widely used in the field of mineral processing, mainly used for classification of fine-grained minerals, as well as slurry concentration.But because of the presence of fine particles carried in underflow, causing ordinary classifying hydro-cyclone's classification effect not very good, which is mainly reflected on the classification efficiency and classification accuracy are not high.The reason for classifying hydro-cyclone's classification efficiency is not high, mainly because effect of differential settlement of different size particles in swirl force field has not been strengthened. For this reason, research group suppressed the deposition movement of fine particles by introducing the radial flow to the heart, and developed a new type classifying hydro-cyclone. This paper mainly studies the relationship between operating parameters and classification efficiency of the cyclone, to provide the basic data for the new cyclone's industrialization.Test results show that the slurry processing capacity and inlet pressure of classifying hydro-cyclone have positive correlation, and relationship formula is Q=6.81pi+0.33; relationship formula between slurry into underflow the split ratio and the inlet pressure is F=-383.21pi3+131.53pi2-14.73pi+0.58; cyclone's flushing pressure and cut size is linear correlation, and relationship formula is dm=1317.79pf+190.28; after flushing pressure increases, possible deviation firstly decreases and then increases, and that could obtain the relationship equation Ef= 6397780 pf3-174904.76 pf2-1923.90pf+107.43; fines content in the underflow's product,which firstly decreases and then increases, is in accordance with flushing pressure's increasing, and that could obtain the relationship formula between fines content in the underflow and flushing pressure is uf=986666.67 pf3-27947.62 pf2-317.74pf+25.85; classification efficiency,which firstly decreases and then increases, is in accordance with flushing pressure's increasing, and that these two parameters's relationship formula is ?=-23861.90pf2+728.36pf+42.09; getting the optimum operating parameters by test were as follows:inlet pressure 0.02MPa, feeding concentration 154.24g/L and flushing pressure 0.02MPa.Under these optimum operating conditions, maximum of cyclone's classification efficiency was 48.81%, increase of 6.66 percent than the addition that the cyclone was not installed flushing water device.After installing the flushing water device, the problem cyclone's underflow fine particles entrained has been significantly improved. This indicates that compared to traditional classifying hydro-cyclones, because of additional flushing device, the new CLF300-type classifying hydro-cyclone, which can better improve the problem of underflow fine particles entrained that traditional cyclones exist, so as to enhance the classification effect.
