Along with the development of the economy,thousands of households have fridges,but the enterprise's foam mold design of fridges is still based on the two-dimensional map,which caused the low efficiency of series design,large work volume on drawings to modify,document management confusion and other issues.This paper presents a parametric design method based on SolidWorks,which can solve the problems in the process of foaming mold design by making a special plugins.This paper is based on our school's the cooperation project," fridges foam mold 3D design system and custom engineering drawing specification developing",with Chuzhou KeChuang Mold Manufacturing Co,Ltd.Through the Microsoft Visual Studio6.0 development platform and SolidWorks,we developed a set of refrigerator foam mold design system.Aiming at refrigerator foam mold's quick series design and the effective management of documents,this system studied the following content:(1)Parameterized and series design of tooling.In this system,all the tooling files were divided into several modules,and the design parameters were passed from tooling,module to the parts,and we set up the relationship between the active and passive sizes.Through modifying the active size by the program to drive the 3 d model,we finally implemented the serialization design of foaming mold tooling;(2)The establishment of standard parts library.Using Access 2003 database to stored the parts commonly used in the process of foaming mold design.The user can see the 3d model of standard parts and engineering drawing through plug-ins,can realize the parametric design of standard parts,call of standard parts and can save the standard drawings as other file format;(3)Add attributes electively.The user checked the attribute need to add,and then use the loop statements to open the level 1 child file of assembly in turn,and add attributes to it.,The assigned properties will reproduce in the 3 d model of engineering drawing according to mapping relations.The attribute information is stored in Access 2003 database and can be modified by the user.In this system,designers can achieve series design of refrigerator foam mold quickly and add attributes information to all engineering drawings in a very short time.Practice shows that this system significantly shortens the development cycle of the product,and has the high use value.
