Four-high rolling mill is widely used in the foil and strip production process, the severe uneven distribution of roller bearing radial load is one of the important factors affecting the bearing life and the elastic deformation of the roll system, and then affects the strip shape. Further study of the relationship between the roller bearing radial load distribution of backup roll and the plate crown and the variation law under the specified condition is beneficial to the roller bearing usage and the novel shape analysis model establishment of strip mill.The force and temperature testing equipment was established in this paper.The equipment consists of a backup roll with two combined bearing blocks and a data acquisition system. The roller bearing radial loads of the bottom backup roll on both drive and operate sides were measured. The transverse thickness distribution of rolled piece was measured and the plate crown was obtained, a software for calculating elastic deformation of roll system was developed by influence function method, the rolling process of the laboratory four high rolling mill under the specified condition was simulated to improve the service life of the rolling mill bearings and shape control precision, The main research contents are as follows:(1) The roller bearing radial loads of the bottom backup roll on both drive and operate sides were measured using the self-designed force and temperature testing equipment, the radical load variation versus reduction ratio, plate width and plate thickness and its distribution were analyzed.(2) The transverse thickness distribution and plate crown variation versus reduction ratio, plate width and plate thickness were measured and analyzed, the relationship between the plate crown and the radical load distribution variation of rolling process was obtained. The residual stress distribution and variation versus plate width and reduction ratio were measured and analyzed.(3) The software for roll system elastic deformation calculating wasdeveloped using influence function method, the rolling process of the laboratory four-high cold rolling mill under the condition of different reduction ratio, plate width and plate thickness were simulated. It can help us study the law of shape control.
