Shale gas,as a new and rapidly growing unconventional natural gas,is becoming the source to change the international energy pattern which has been the focus of global attention. However, the problem of water environment damage should not be ignored that has also become the current issue which need to be solved. The destruction of water environment not only affects people's livelihood and production development but also has a devastating impact on the sustainable development of shale gas. Therefore,in view of shale gas development, this thesis uses geo-statistics,regression analysis and other methods to assess and the quality of water-environment.Firstly,the present situation of shale gas development is analyzed in this thesis based on case studies. The distribution of water environment pollutants in study area is then obtained using spatial auto-correlation analysis to process the monitoring data by means of GS+ and ArcGIS software.Secondly, the correlation analysis and regression analysis of various soluble pollutants in the study area are proposed to explore the correlations among the pollutants by combining with case studies. Finally, the thesis puts forward some feasible suggestions and precautions for a better development of shale gas in China. Results show that 1)the high concentration regions of pH,calcium ion, chloride ion and magnesium ion are distributed one wise from northwest to northeast in the study area in which the highest values of pH,calcium ion and chloride ion exceed the safe concentration range of the pollutants;2)the correlation analysis between two groups of the pollutants shows that a significant linear relationship exists. One group comprises of magnesium and calcium ions and the other comprises of chloride ion and radium 228;3)there exists a significant linear relation between the correlations of various pollutants. The decision makers can estimate the concentration of unknown contaminants by analyzing the results to immediately identify the concentration of various pollutants which can prevent one from unnecessary monitoring steps.Generally, for the decision-makers by using geo-statistics and regression analysis and other methods to effectively analyze and solve the problem of shale gas extraction water environment,it can not only provide an accurate basis but also lay the foundation of shale-gas-extraction water environment for further studies.
