With the process of reform and opening up, the growth of China’s economy has laid the economic foundation for the prosperity of the jewelry market. At present, the style of jewelry in the market tends to become more and more western and the traditional Chinese cultural characteristics in the jewelry design is less and less.This paper will be "traditional for body, moderm for use " as a design concept, it studies the cultural property and the characteristics of the times in jewelry design. Combined with the evaluation of the motives of consumer jewelry consumption, the design of the localization of jewelry works in line with the target population.Firstly, The traditional culture of the jewelry design attributes. From family ethics, social"relationship", religion and myth and literature from four aspects, in Chinese traditional concept, respectively, selected representative traditional culture elements were studied.Through the analysis and processing technology of traditional jewelry material, to show the traditional jewelry.Secondly, the paper analyzes the modem aesthetic concepts and characteristics of the study of family ethics, social "relationship", religion and myth and literature from four aspects of traditional culture elements of modern performance, has carried on the symbolic processing to the typical cultural elements, and use modern jewelry materials and processing technology is used in design and production, to show the era feature of jewelry design.Thirdly, this paper proposes the design concept,the design and positioning. From income levels, consumer preferences of both groups were analyzed characteristics of consumers.Designed questionnaire jewelry consumption motivation, the results of the questionnaires were SPSS factor analysis and principal component analysis.Eventually, application of the above concepts, combined with the market analysis,completed the positioning of the market target population, the paper completes a series of three designs and gives the kind of jewelry products.
