For the years, the reactive compensation technology continues to development, and becoming more and more perfect, more powerful, also very wide application. Reactive power compensation technology tends to be intelligent, the volume of the reactive power compensation device is becoming smaller in the reactive power compensation device, static synchronous compensator is a major concern. STATCOM is the focus of research function as the most comprehensive reactive compensation devices, STATCOM have faster?control capability faster and harmonic small. Therefore, STATCOM has become the focus of research at home and abroad.STATCOM belong to nonlinear?diversified system, control strategy have exist coupling phenomena, the control performance is not stable. Also STATCOM belong to dynamic system, PI control parameters setting very hard, the traditional PI controller is long of dynamic response and overshoot, the control precision and robustness is affect. To solve above problems, this paper is used instantaneous control and decouple, improve control performance; at the same time, the design of the fuzzy PI controller, not only to maintain the advantages of simple conventional PI control, also has strong adaptability and robustness characteristics. The simulation and experimental analysis shows that good control performance of STATCOM control system, the controller performance is stable, the compensation effect to achieve the desired objectives.The paper introduces the development situation of reactive power compensation at home and abroad; analysis of STATCOM dynamic mathematical, STATCOM control system and controller are introduced. Finally, the physical field data collection and analysis.
