The Analysis Of Feidong Residents’ Health Literacy Survey

Objective:To fully understand the level of health literacy of residents in Feidong County, and provide an effective basis for the development of education and related health s policy.Methods:Seven villages and towns participated in the survey, we use stratified multistage sampling proportional to population size (PPS) method and KISH table method to randomly select the residents aged from 15 to 69, the questionnaire was used to evaluate the results.Results:The survey questionnaires were issued 2038 copies, of which 1932 questionnaires were got, the effective rate was 94.8%. Among the 1932 questionnaires, 1067 respondents were male, accounting for 55.2%,865 were female, accounting for 44.8%, the ratio of male to female is 1.2:1, theaverage age was 45.3 ± 26.3 years, to 35 to 45 years old age was the main group, accounting for 49.5%; of which 1915 was the Han, accounting for 99.1%; The main education level group is junior high school and elementary school, accounting for 31.5% and 24.7% respectively. The main occupation is farmer, accounting for 68.9%, the second is worker, accounting for 7.9%. Health literacy level of residents in Feidong County is 10.5%, the overall awareness of the questionnaire was 60.6%. The basic knowledge and theoretical attainment level was 16.4%, the healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy level was 19.1%, basic literacy skills was 7.6%,, scientific view of health literacy was 32.6%, infectious diseases prevention and treatment literacy was 26.1%, chronic disease prevention literacy level was 17.5%, safety and first aid literacy was 42.5%, basic health literacy was 19.2%, health information literacy level was 11.0%.Conclusions:Overall level of the health literacy of residents in Feidong County is relatively stable, health education propaganda has achieved certain results, but it still needs to be further promoted according to the literacy difference between different age and gender.
