Clinical Observations On Acupoint Embedding Therapy Phlegm Type Of Obesity With Impaired Glucose Tolerance

Objective: By observing the catgut embedding method is different from electric acupuncture method treatment of phlegm obesity with impaired glucose tolerance clinical curative effect,to investigate the effect of acupoint catgut embedding on weight loss index and glucose metabolism in patients,to objective evaluated the method of catgut embedding safety and efficacy in clinical application,to provide a more reliable basis in future clinical work.Methods:60 cases of phlegm obesity patients with impaired glucose tolerance are divided into two groups according to random number table,they are catgut embedding treatment group and electric acupuncture treatment group,each group has 30 patients.The differences of body weight,body mass index(BMI),waist circumference(WC),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),two hour plasma glucose(2h PG) between two groups are observed before and after 1and 2 treatments.Results:After treatment,we can notice that catgut embedding therapy is efficient in treating phlegm obesity.The effect of weight loss, in the acupoint catgut embedding group,markedly effective number were 5cases and effective number were 22 cases,the total effective rate was 90% higher than 83.33% in electric acupuncture group. In hypoglycemic effect,in the acupoint catgut embedding group, markedly effective number were 4 cases, effective number were 20 cases,invalid in 6 cases,in electric acupuncture group,there were markedly in 5 cases,effective in 18 cases,invalid in 7cases.The total effective rate was 80% in the acupoint catgut embedding group slightly higher than 76.67% in electric acupuncture group. Judging from the comparison of various index,the acupoint catgut embedding group perform better than electric acupuncture group in improving the body weight,waist circumference,body mass index and 2h PG after two courses treatments(P<0.05).But there is no difference in fasting blood glucose lowering effect of the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Catgut embedding method and electric acupuncture method all have positive effects in treating phlegm obesity with impaired glucose tolerance,which can lead to the good results of weight loss,fat loss and lowering blood sugar.Compared with the electric acupuncture,the efficacy of comprehensive in embedding therapy method is more obvious,and its operation is more simple.The catgut embedding has body sculpting, hypoglycemic,narrow waist-hip trend,so the overall evaluation is superior than the electric acupuncture method,which is worthy of clinical application.
