Clinical Observation On ShenJiaoYiSuiFang Combined With Western Medicine In The Treatment Of Chronic Aplastic Anemia

Objective:The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Shen Jiao Yi Sui Prescription combined with Western medicine in the treatment of chronic aplastic anemia, in order to find safe and effective treatment methods for the patients. Method:All the 44 CAA patients were selected from the inpatient and outpatient units of the Hematology Division of Hubei Provincial Hospital between June 2013 and October 2015. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: 24 patients in the control group and 20 patients in the treatment group.Both groups were treated with Western medicine. The treatment group was given Shen Jiao Yi Sui Prescription additionally. Clinical observation lasted for 3 months. Eventually, we observed and recorded the symptoms, perpheral hemogram, reticulocyte transfusion and safety from the before and after treatment in both groups andevaluate a overall effect and the safetyof Shen Jiao Yi Sui Prescription. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS19.0 software. The statistical results were statistically significant when P<0.05. Results:After 6 months of treatment, there was 14 with relief, 8 with improvement and 2 without response in the treatment group. The overall effective rate was 91.66%. Relatively, there was 3 with relief, 11 with improvement, Therefore the overall effective rate was 70.0%, which was significantly different from that of the treatment group(P<0.05).After 6 months of treatment, the patient’s hemoglobin count, red blood cell count, neutrophile granulocyte count, platelet count,reticulocyte count and bone marrow hemopoietic level in the treatment group had an obvious improvement, compared with those in pre-treatment(P<0.05) and the control group(P<0.5).Analysis of efficacy of TCM symptoms as follow: in the treatment group,3 cases were clinical cured,11 marked as excellent cases,9 were effective cases,the general effective rate in the treatment group was 95.83%;in the control group,2 cases were marked excellent, 4 cases were effective, The general effective rate in the control group was 30%. The difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<O.05).However, there were no significant difference between the three kinds pattern of syndr- kidney yin and kidney yang deficiency, or Kidney Yin deficie-in treatment group which may on account of the small sample size.Regarding the security aspects,the treatment group has two patients that suffered from slight liver dysfunction,one suffered from a transient changes of ST segment on ECG,3 patients suffered from acne,3 patients suffered from gum hypertrophy; The control group has 5 patients suffered from liver dysfunction, 4 patients suffered from acne,2 patients suffered from gum hypertrophy,one suffered from adema of both lower extremities. But they all alleviated after heteropathy.And there was no significant difference between the two groups in urine routine, stoolroutine, renal function. Conclusion:It proved that the Shen Jiao Yi Sui Prescription in the treatment of chronic aplastic anemia has definite clinical therapeutic effect of improving clinical symptoms of the patients as well as perpheral hemogram and the quality of patients’ life. The recipe is effective in the treatment of CAA by promoting hematopoietic, regulating immune function and repairing damaged myeloid tissue.
