Objective:Searching on the literature about traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic heart failure(CHF)in the clinical randomized controlledtrials.Analysis theproblems existing in the research, especially the selection and application of heart failure outcomes,to provide reference for traditional Chinese medicine clinical research in the future.Method:Retrieve Traditional Chinese Medicineclinical randomized controlled trial literature in the CNKI database(China National Knowledge Infrastructure database,CNKI),Chongqing VIPdatabase(Chongqing VIP Chinese science VIP database and technology periodical Database,VIP)and Wanfang database, with "heart failure","heart failure" or "cardiac insufficiency " as "theme","title" or "key words","2014" for the sampling year.Selecting TCM clinical randomized controlled trial literature by downloading the bibliography and reading literature abstracts. Then extract and analysis relevant information, including the number of research centers, registration, ethical revie, informed consent, and theoutcomes. Results:As a result,606 relevant literatures were retrieved.By preliminary screening,281 literatu-res were adoptedfinally, include 24662 cases. The ages of the patients are 18 to 98,and the co-urses of heart failure are ranging from three mouths to 41 years. The basic diseases of these paitients are mainly include chronic heart disease(CHD),pulmonary heart disease,hypertensi-on heart disease, rheumatic heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy.Heartfunction by New York Heart Association(NYHA)graded II–IV are 9612 cases(38.97%),II-III are 4557 cases(18.48%),III-IV are 3124 cases(12.67%),I-IV are 1045 patients(4.24%),IV are 408 cases(1.65%).The type of intervention drugs include proprietary Chinesemedicine(14930 cases,60.54%),including traditional Chinese medicine injections(9787cases,39.68%)andoral preparations(5045 cases,20.5%),andself-prescription9732 cases(39.46%).TCM syndrome type are Yang deficiency syndrome(2923 cases,1.85%),Qi deficiency and blood stasis(2479 cases,10.05%),deficiency of Qi and yang(1742 cases,7.06%),deficiency of Qi and yin(1403,5.69%),deficiency of yin andyang(72 cases,0.29%).A total of 45 therapeutic effect evaluation indexof chronic heart failure were collected, including color cardiac doppler, heart function classification, clinical symptoms,BNP and NT pro-BNP,TCM syndromes,6 minutes walk test, quality of life, and so on.Color cardiac doppler combined with heart function classification is the most frequently used in estimating the curative effects. Conclusions:Color cardiac doppler, heart function classification, clinical symptoms,BNP and NT pro-BNP,TCM syndromes,6 minutes walking testand quality of life are often used to evaluatethe curative effects of chronic heart failure. The design of TCM clinical randomized controlled trials and the choice and usage of the outcome are to be improved.
