Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of breast-conserving surgery and modified radical mastectomy in the treatment of early breast cancer. Methods: The clinical data of 40 cases of breast-conserving patients and 40 patients with modified radical treatment from January 2012 to December 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. In order to assess the efficacy of two surgical methods, time of operation, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization time, postoperative cosmetic effect, recurrence rate, metastasis rate and survival rate were compared. Results: 1. The operation time, hospitalization time and intraoperative blood loss were significantly less than those of the modified radical group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. 2. At the end of follow-up, There was 1 case of recurrence and 1 case of metastasis in the breast-conserving group, no death occurred. There were 2 cases of metastasis and 1 case of death in the modified radical group, and no local recurrence. There was no significant difference in recurrence rate, metastasis rate and survival rate between the two groups. 3. It was judged that 37 cases of breast conserving group were excellent, 2 cases were normal and 1 case was poor. The rate of excellent was 92.5%. In the modified radical group, the whole mastectomy operation was performed without cosmetic effect,so that all of them were judged to be poor. Breast conserving group after surgery cosmetic effect was significantly better than the modified radical group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: In the treatment of early breast cancer, compared with modified radical mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery has a short operation time, less intraoperative bleeding, short hospital stay and the advantages of rapid recovery after surgery. At the same time, breast-conserving surgery compared with modified radical surgery, local recurrence rate, distant metastasis rate and survival rate was no significant difference, and postoperative cosmetic effect is good, worthy of clinical promotion.
