Objective: To explore the association between blood lipid and glucose levels with follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)levels.And to study the association between FSH receptor(FSHR)gene polymorphism rs1290100,rs6165 and rs6166 and the levels of blood lipid and glucose in the middle-aged and elderly people of Hui and Han subjects of the urban communities in Ningxia.Methods: Total 1850 middle-aged and elderly Hui and Han subjects were recruited by a cluster sampling method from the cities of Ningxia Hui Autonomos Region.The blood samples were drawed to test lipid,glucose and other biochemical indexes and the levels of serum FSH were tested.The genotypes of FSHR gene SNPs were performed using the Sequenom Mass ARRAY platform.SPSS 17.0,Plink and Haploview 4.2 were used for statistical and genetical analysis.Results: 1.The lipid and glucose levels:(1)The average of the main components of lipids in the old in Ningxia urben communities: TC(4.87±1.22)mmol/L,TG(1.84±1.03)mmol/L,HDL(1.28±0.33)mmol/L,LDL(3.07±0.80)mmol/L,GLU(6.12±1.95)mmol/L.(2)The TC level of Han,the LDL level of Hui and the levels of TC,HDL and LDL of female all have the differencesfrom the others(P<0.05).2.The average level of FSH in middle-aged and elderly subjects from urban communities of Ningxia: male(34.89±57.50)IU/L,female(87.79±62.89)IU/L,the level of FSH in middle-aged and elderly population has significant differences between male and female subjects(t=-18.874,P=0.000).3.The association of FSH and serum lipid and gluceose levels: In Hui female subjects,the level of FSH was significantly lower in the group of low HDL than that in the HDL normal group(P<0.05);and in Han female subjects,the level of FSH was significantly higher in the group of high LDL than that in the LDL normal group(P<0.05).In male group,there was no differences of the level of FSH in both Hui and Han subjects.There also was no differences of the level of FSH between the group of Diabetes and the Glu normal group.4.The association of FSHR gene polymorphisms(rs1290100,rs6165 and rs6166)and serum lipid and glucose levels in middle-aged and elderly of Hui and Han subjects from urban communities of Ningxia: The level of LDL was correlated with the genotypes of SNPs rs6165 and rs6166.The risk of high LDL in subjects with genotype TC of both rs6165 and rs6166 was 1.485 and 1.481 times higher than that in subjects with genotype TT(OR=1.485,1.481;P<0.05).After adjust by the gender,age and BMI,the risk was 1.447 and 1.463 times higher(OR=1.447,1.463;P<0.05)in subjects with genotype TC.Conclusion: The levels of TG,HDL and LDL in the middle-aged and elderly Hui and Han subjects from urban communities of Ningxia were higher than studies in other areas.In Hui females subjects,HDL and FSH were negative correlated;while in Han females subjects,LDL and FSH were positively correlated.The distribution of rs1290100,rs6165 and rs6166 has noethnic differents.Among the genotypes of SNPs rs6165 and rs6166,the level of LDL in the TC group is higher than it in the TT group.There was no correlation between the rs1290100 and the levels of serum lipids and glucose.
