Objective:To investigate the relationship between680single nucleotide polymorph isms at exon10in follicle stimulating hormone receptor(FSHR)gene and the ovaria n response of patients treated by in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET)Methods:In this single center prospective study102IVF-ET patients were divided into3groups according to ovarian response. There were22cases in low response group,58cases in normal response group, and22cases in high responsegroup. Then FSHR polymorphism was examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The age, body mass index (BMI), infertility reason, basic follicle stimulating hormone (bFSH), Antral follicle count (AFC), serum estradiol concentration(E2) on Human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) injection day, total dose of gonadotrophin(Gn),the duration of Gn, as well as the retrieved oocytes were compared.Results:1. The duration and total dose of Gn of low response group was significantly more than normal and high response group, but E2on HCG injection day and retrieved oocytes of high responder group was apparently more than normal and low response group (p<0.05)2.High and normal response group AA type accounted for the largest proportion(54.5%.50.0%).while low response group SS type accounted for the largest proportion (50.0%).3.The total dose of Gn of SS type was obviously more than the amount of AA and AS type (41.14±13.14), however the number of oocytes was significantly lower than the other two types (8.64±5.39)(P<0.05)Conclusion:680single nucleotide polymorphism at exon10in FSHR gene may plan an important role in ovarian response in IVF-ET cycle. FSHR gene polymorphism can be detected to predict ovarian response, clinical treatment, to reduce the financial and emotional burden of patients.
