Objective: The present study was designed to explore the plasma level of CTRP5 and its relationship with cardiac function in patients with heart failure, therefore to evaluate the significance of CTRP5 in the diagnosis of heart failure and classification of cardiac function.Methods:1 According to the diagnostic criteria in the Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of chronic heart failure 2014 of Chinese Medical Association,67 CHF patients administered in the Department of cardiology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Medical University from January 2016 to October2016 were enrolled as the CHF group, and 20 healthy subjects with the matched age, gender, body mass index(BMI)were enrolled as the normal control group.According to the cardiac function classification standard of the New York Heart Association(NYHA),patients in the CHF group were classified as grade II(n=22),grade III(n=20),and grade IV(n=25).General data of patients, including the age, sex, height, weight, and BMI,and laboratory test results were recorded in detail.2 CHF patients were hospitalized and 3ml fasting venous blood was collected the next morning in an ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA)anticoagulative tube.Plasma was collected after centrifuged at 3000 r/min for15 minutes, and placed in an in,Eppendorf tube and stored at-80?.Quantitative measurement of CTRP5 was made by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and NT-pro BNP was detected by sandwich immunofluorescence method.3 The structure and function of the left ventricle in all CHF patients were detected by using color Doppler ultrasound detection equipment. Then left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD)and left ventricular ejectionfraction(LVEF)of patients in each group were recorded, and average values were calculated using statistical methods for each group.Experimental data were processed by SPSS22.0 statistical software.Variance analysis was applied for comparison among multiple groups;t-test was used for comparison between two groups and data were expressed as((?)±s)),and a P<0.05 was considered indicative of a significant difference.Linear correlation and rank correlation were used to analyze the correlation between two variables, and the difference of P<0.05 was statistically significant.Results:1 Plasma levels of CTRP5 and NT-pro BNP in the CHF group were significantly higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).2 Plasma CTRP5 was positively correlated with NT-pro BNP in the CHF group(r=0.845,P<0.01).3.Plasma levels of CTRP5 and NT-pro BNP were gradually increased with the deterioration of cardiac function in the CHF group, and the differences were statistically significant(each P<0.01).CTRP5 level in cardiac function grade II patients was increased compared to that of the control group and the difference, however, was not statistically significant(P>0.05).CTRP5 levels in the grade III group and the grade IV group were significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).4 Plasma CTRP5,NT-pro BNP levels were negatively correlated with LVEF(r=-0.906,P<0.)and positively correlated with LVEDD(r=0.844,P<0.01).Conclusion: Plasma CTRP5 and NT-pro levels in CHF patients are significantly higher than that of the control group, which are significantly increased with the deterioration of cardiac function.Plasma CTRP5 level is positively correlated with that of NT-pro BNP in CHF patients.CTRP5 has important reference value in the diagnosis of CHF and the classification of cardiac function as well as the determination of ventricular remodeling, whichcan guide the clinical diagnosis of heart failure and its severity.
