ObjectivesTo analyze current statue of mental health of fa milies of patients with burn,and to explore the relationship between their uncertainty in illness or social support and mental health.To provide reference for the intervention measures to improve the mental health of families of patients with burn.MethodsThe questionnaires were used to survey statue of mental health of families of patients with burn who were in a city burn center.The questionnaires included four parts:(1)Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale-Family Member Form;(2)Social Support Rating Scale;(3)Symptom C heck list 90;(4)Basic information Scale.Statistical Product and Service Solutions version 17.0(SPSS17.0)was used to analyze the data.The statistical methods involved descriptive statistics analysis,T test,Single factor analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis,Multiple stepwise regression analysis,and etc.Results(1)The score of the total score of SCL-90 in the family of burn patients was(155.8 ± 46.85)score.The score of the compulsive symptom factor was the highest,and the score was(1.96 ± 0.54)score.The score of the terrorist factor was the lowest,and the score was(1.53 ± 0.63)score;The total score of uncertainty of illness in family members of burn patients was(87.13 ± 13.92)score.The highest score of ambiguity score was(3.00 ± 0.62)score,and the lowest score of information deficiency dimension was(2.65 ± 0.58)score;The score of social support for the family members of burn patients is(40.67 ± 6.81)score,the highest score of subjective support dimension is(6.24 ± 1.05)score,and the lowest score of support utilization dimension is(2.37 ± 0.65)score;(2)The difference in gender,age,marital status,education level,hospitalization time,payment method,cause of burn,and family members’ relationship between the burn patients and their family SC L-90 total score were statistically significant,P<0.05;The uncertainty of illness in family members of burn patients is statistically different in the age of patients,the level of burn,the cause of burn and the relationship between family members and patients.P<0.05;The social support of the families of burn patients was statistically significant in the gender and family age of the patients,P<0.05;(3)In stepwise linear regression analysis: the partial regression coefficient of information deficiency,objective support,education level and cause of burn to mental health is statistically significant.Conclusions(1)The level of uncertainty and social support of the family members of burn patients is medium high,while mental health is at a low level.The symptoms of obsessive-compulsive symptoms,anxiety and depression are obvious;(2)The uncertainty of illness in family members of burn patients is negatively correlated with mental health status.The higher the level of uncertainty in illness is,the worse mental health state is;The social support and the mental health of the family members of the burn patients were positively correlated.The higher the social support level,the better the mental health of the family members;(3)the indeterminate sense of disease and social support of the family members of the burned patients have a predictive effect on their mental health.
