Objective: To observe the clinical outcome and value of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)adjuvant treatment and antivenin in combination for the treatment of agkistrodon acutus bites,so as to provide a foundation for HBO treatment in snake bites. Methods: The clinical data of 61 cases with agkistrodon acutus bites in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed, and these patients were randomly into antivenin group(control group,n=31)and HBO-assisted therapy in combination with antivenin group(observation group,n=30)according to whether HBO treatment or not after admission. The indicators such as creatinine(Cr),BUrea, activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),prothrombin time(PT),thrombin time(TT),fibrinogen(FIB),alternative lengthening of telomeres(ALT),aspartate aminotrans ferase(AST),creatin kinase(CK),creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),white blood cell(WBC),blood platelet(PLT),myoglobin(Mb),C-reactive protein(CRP)were observed, and the clinical outcomes of two groups were compared. Results: 1.There were no significant between-group differences in sex, age, swelling condition, and disease severity(P>0.05);2.Before treatment, the indicators of laboratory test showed no significant differences in two groups(P>0.05);2.The levels of Cr,BUrea,APTT,TT,ALT,AST,CK,CK-MB,LDH,WBC,Mb,CRP in both groups were decreased after treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05),but the two groups had no significant difference in PT after treatment as compared to the treatment before(P>0.05).Both groups showed increased levels of PLT and FIB,and observation group was higher than the control group in PLT,but no significant difference was seen in FIB in two groups after treatment when compared to the treatment before(P>0.05).3.The observation group had higher one-week curative ratio(73.33% vs.45.16%,P<0.05),and shorter improvement days,as well as wound healing time than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Antivenin in combination with HBO adjuvant therapy in the treatment ofagkistrodon acutus bites can protect the kidney and coagulation function, shorten symptom improvement days, wound healing time, and improve one-week curative ratio,so it is an effective therapy in the treatment of agkistrodon acutus bites.
