Objective:To compare the expression of Bladder Tumor Antigen in Hui and Han patients with bladder cancer and to investigate the significance and diagnostic value of BTA in bladder cancer. Methods : A case-control study was conducted by collecting the urine of patients diagnosed with bladder cancer at the Ningxia medical hospital from September 2015 to March 2018,with 10 ml of each patient. In accordance with the final inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 62 urine samples of bladder cancer patients whose tumor staging was below T1N0M0 were included.Among them,35 were Han people and 27 were Hui people.Meanwhile,we set 26 healthy people as the control group.According to bladder cancer grading,62 patients with bladder cancer were divided into three subgroups: 9 with low malignant potential epithelial papilloma,35 with low-grade urothelial carcinoma, and 18 with high-grade urothelial carcinoma.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to quantitatively detect bladder tumor antigen(the kit was provided by Shanghai Tongwei Industrial Co.,Ltd.).By Quantitative detecting bladder tumor antigens in Hui and Han people who were diagnosed with bladder cancer reveals that whether have a clear difference in the expression level of bladder tumor antigens between them.SPSS 21.0 software was used for analyzing the experimental data.Continuous variables were described as mean ± standard deviation, categorical variables were expressed as frequency(percentage).Student’s t test was used to judge the degree of the difference about the continuous variables(e.g.mean),and categorical variables were used chisquare test to compare the group differences. The cut-off threshold was determined by the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC).When P < 0.05,it was considered to be statistically significant. Results:The value of BTA was 355.53 ± 153.18 ng/ml and the sensitivity was 62.86% in 35 Han patients with bladder cancer. The value of BTA was 150.71 ± 165.55 ng/ml and the sensitivity was 59.25% in the 27 Hui patients. The P values of BTA and sensitivity were 0.906 and 0.773(P>0.05),respectively,indicating that there was no significant difference in the expression of bladder tumor antigen and the sensitivity between Hui and Han bladder cancer patients. The value of BTA was 58.17±39.68ng/ml and the sensitivity was 22.22% in 9 patients with low malignant potential epithelial papilloma, the value of BTA 113.55±78.59ng/ml,and the sensitivity was 62.86% in 35 patients with low-grade urothelial carcinoma, while the value of BTA was 278.60±226.06 ng/ml,and the sensitivity was 72.22% in 18 patients with highgrade urothelial carcinoma. In the subgroup of patients with low malignant potential epithelial papilloma,low-grade urothelial carcinoma, and high-grade urothelial carcinoma, the values of BTA and sensitivity of the each two groups were statistically different(P<0.001),demonstrating that there are significant differences in the expression of the bladder tumor antigen in different grades of bladder cancer. Conclusion:There is no significant difference in the expression of Bladder Tumor Antigen between Hui and Han people suffered from bladder cancer, but further studies with larger sample size are still required to confirm the conclusion; The value of Bladder tumor antigen and diagnostic sensitivity were positively correlated with bladder cancer grade, revealing that bladder tumor antigen can be used as an adjunct means for the diagnosis of bladder cancer, and manifesting the different sensitivities of BTA in the different grades of bladder cancer.
