With the ongoing trend of globalization, tourism has reached its boom. Hence guide interpreters have become an important bridge and bond in cross-cultural communication. Because of the differences between Eastern and Western cultures, collisions and conflicts will occur inevitably in communication. Therefore, cracking down these problems becomes the key to effective cross-cultural communication and satisfactory guide interpreting service. In this regard, appropriate utilization of guide interpreting strategies is of great importance.Based on the analysis of the collected information of Beijing guide interpreting, including buildings, houses, food, customs, Peking Opera and so on, this report proposes that the selection of guide interpreting strategies, namely free translation, foreignization, transliteration, addition, omission and analogy, all of which are verified by examples respectively. According to the collected information from the perspective of interpretive theory, this paper analyzes several specific interpreting strategies which are used in guide interpreting so as to improve the quality of guide interpreting.
