| With the development of China’s tourism industry,an increasing number of foreign visitors travel to China,and guide-interpreters play an important role in the international tourism.This report explores how the author completed her guide-interpreting at Kaiyuan Temple guided by the Interpretive Theory.Firstly,this report describes the background information of the task and the interpreting process.Then,there is a theoretical introduction where the Interpretive Theory is explained at length.After that,in the main part of this report,the author describes four problems she encountered in the interpreting process and proposes corresponding solutions Besides,the author illustrates interpreting strategies applied to the task under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,such as literal translation plus annotation,addition,omission,paraphrase,transformation of parts of speech,generalization.At last,findings and limitations are summed up briefly.From the analysis of the practice of guide-interpreting at Kaiyuan Temple,the author knows well about the application of the Interpretive Theory in guide-interpreting.Furthermore,the author hopes that this report can be of some help for interpretation learners. |
