Nineteenth Century is a century of great significance in the history of human development.In this century,modern society pattern conformation was basically formed.Academic painting,with William Bouguereau as the principal,represented classical painting’s social legitimacy status on one hand since it nearly kept all of the official art activities under control meanwhile suppressing and expelling other dissident schools.On the other hand,the seemingly strong legitimate power was facing overall collapse and various schools of modern arts were competing to walk onto the stage.Summarizing his basic argument view,Bouguereau was a mediocre,mechanical,compromised and sweet greasy academism and also a conservative traditional moralist.Bouguereau’s works were full of aestheticism and ideal realism,melancholy and sentimental color.Starting from the introduction of William Bouguereau’s life story,artistic experience and artistic view meanwhile combining the formation reason and source of ideas of his artistic styles with the aesthetic value of his works,this paper analyzed some female images in,so that we could imitate and learn new thoughts and contents,and interpreted and analyzed the styles of his female images.For exquisiting painting skills,Bouguereau made accurate depiction and unique painting composition with their unique mental world.The article was divided into four chapters: the first chapter analyzed the formation causes of Bouguereau’s painting styles and studied the influence of the era background Bouguereau in his personal life experience on his painting styles.The second chapter studied the unique tone of the female images in Bouguereau’s paintings,analyzed the influence on the female images in the works of Rembrandt,Botticelli,Angell,Rafael and Titian.The third chapter analyzed the style characteristics,creation intention,picture composition arrangement,detail characteristics and other contents in his female painting creation.The fourth chapter summarized Bouguereau’s female image works,discussed the practical significance and value of Bouguereau’s female image paintings,elaborated the influence,inspiration and positive significance of Bouguereau’s women painting art on Chinese and Western women’s art of painting and stated some of my understanding.Hope that this paper may leave some detailed and comprehensive theoretical materials for us to learn and discuss.
