The polyphony and Bach's keyboard music have been regarded as required courses for piano students. As the last work of Bach's Partita, the Partita is one of his most mature works, and also is an excellent polyphony teaching material.Due to the prevailing of improvisation of the Baroque period,Bach seldom indicated the specific instructions of playing in his original manuscripts. With the development of books and publishing and the popularity of Internet, there are more and more versions of music and playing spreading around the world. In my opinion,to play Bach well,it is inadequate to study only one version of music score or hear one pianist playing,so the analysis and comparison of multiple versions have significant value for practice and research. The proper selection of music version and more appreciation of the different playing contribute to learners to understand and play Bach's music better, and they could also promote players to perform the keyboard music of the Baroque period with high-quality on the modern piano. This essay focuses on Partita No.1 in b Flat Major(BWV825),compares and analyzes three music scores and five playing versions, then explores the brilliant contents and playing rules of the music, which would offer valuable guidance for learning and teaching Partita. The full-text is divided into six parts: Part I is the introduction, which expresses the topic and research situation.Part II outlines the historical origins of Partita, introduces its composition in the first Partita in b flat major,BWV825.Third part focuses on the comparison and analysis of part, ornament and fingering between three music scores. In part IV,five pianists performing versions have been compared, including playing method, speed, intensity, grace note, repeat and impromptu.Part V concludes and summarizes all the comparative study of the music scores and playing versions.Part VI summarizes the full text and draws the conclusion.
