A Study Of The Artistic Conception Of Wang Guowei's Drama

Wang Guowei is an important writer in the 20th century Chinese drama research history,he devoted into the research of Chinese drama.He raised the Yuan drama which had been evaluated as the literature of Yuan to the same status as Tang poems and Song poems,and he also affirmed the artistic value of drama,he praised highly of the beauty of nature and artistic conception of the drama so that he put forward the idea that using the theory of nature and artistic conception as the standard of a drama,consequently he contributed a rather systematically scientific system of drama artistic conception theory;and that he connected the west and east,the old and new to develop a new paradigm of the generational learning from which he was meaningful to the Chinese drama research of modernization.The thesis made a subtle analysis to Wang's drama artistic conception theory.The thesis includes introduction,text and conclude.The introduction discussed the research status of drama artistic conception theory,introduced the background of the topic and presented the past study of Wang's drama artistic conception theory.The first chapter discussed the motivation and background of Wang's study of the drama artistic conception and the origin of it.Then it was found that the drama artistic conception theory was developed form his Ren Jian Ci Hua's realm theory and succeeded predecessors'theory of drama artistic conception.The second chapter discussed the theory's specific connotation in two parts included the theory of nature and the theory of artistic conception.The theory of nature included the nature of narration motion,the nature of creation motivation and the nature of language and characters.The theory of artistic conception included three parts,by narrating motions,he can refreshing readers' mind;by narrating scenery,he can appear it visibly to readers' eyes;and by narrating affairs,he can describe it in characters just as he was there and giving a speech.The third chapter discussed the status of Wang's drama artistic conception theory and its'influence to later generation's study,thus it can give us a more comprehensive and clear cognition of the drama artistic conception theory.
