This report is based on the author’s interpreting practice at the 2016 Hunan-Africa International Industrial Cooperation Conference&Networking Event. The recording materials were collected from the one-on-one session of the event,in which the Vice Minister of the Regional Development and Construction of Moldova met with five local enterprises. The author analyzed the text of source language and target language based on the recordings.Focusing on the interpreting errors, the author studied different types of interpreting errors and possible reasons for these errors, and provided suggestions for similar interpreting tasks in the future. This report consists of four chapters, including task description,pre-task preparation, case study and possible factors of interpreting errors. The first chapter is a brief introduction of the interpretation task. The second chapter described the preparation the author has done after receiving the task, including the collection of information and terminology. The third chapter is the main body of this report,in which the author gives specific examples and analyzed different types of interpretation errors. The last chapter studied possible factors and reasons that lead to these errors.Through the description and analysis on the interpretation task, this report draws the following conclusions:1.The types and forms of interpretation errors vary from person to person.2.Possible reasons that lead to these errors are comprehensive, including internal controllable factors and external uncontrollable factors, and the root causes of these errors is the lack of language competence and extralinguistic knowledge for the interpreter.3.These errors are judged from the perspective of professional interpretation learning. These errors did not cause misunderstandings between speakers and the task is completed successfully, but still there is much to be improved.4.Interpreters and students major in interpretation should consider improving their professional quality as the fundamental goal,so as to better meet the challenges of different tasks.
