Empirical Analysis For Foreigner Preparatory Students’ Campus Adaptation Stage

In recent years,along with the enhancement of China’s international influence,the size of foreignerpreparatory student population in China is also increase gradually.As a special kind of group in China,foreignerpreparatory students’ campus adaptation situation need to be concerned,but now are rarely concerned by school.This research uses combination of quantitative and qualitative methods and divide the survey into three times.The three survey times are 0-2 months,2-3 months,3-4 months.This article is an empirical research for the stage of preparatory students’ campus adaptation.The campus adaptation of foreignerpreparatorystudentincluding three related dimensions(it means campus international adaptation,academic adaptation,campus life adaptation).This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction part,selected topic reason and research significance of this article are elaborated in the article,including its theoretical significance and practical significance.Besides,definition of international students’intercultural adaption,intercultural adaptation model,the influencing factors of cross-cultural adaptationas well as the domestic study of intercultural adaptationfor abroad students.The second chapter is an overall introduction for the empirical investigation,including three aspects:design questionnaire,launch an investigation,and validity and reliability of the questionnaire in detail.The third chapteras the main part is divided into four parts:This part is the main part of this article.Mainly analyzed the campus stage adaptationsituation of foreignerpreparatorystudent.The survey found:the overall campus adaptationstagesituation of preparatory student is good,the campus adaptation situation of students coming for 0-2 month,2-3 month,3-4 month presents some stage characteristics,shows three stages:the honeymoon period,the setbacks period,the adjustment period.Theadaptationsituation of the honeymoon period are good,theadaptationsituation of the setbacks period is reduce,the adjustment period are back up to the highest level.Andthenanalyzed the similarities and differences between the campus stageadaptationsituation of foreignerpreparatory student and 4 stages cross-cultural adaptation theory model of Oberg.It founds that the trends of the stage of adaptationsituation of preparatory student are the same as the 4 stages cross-cultural adaptation theory model of Oberg,with the exception of the setbacks period.The fourthcharpter is the campus to adapt to the differences between relevant factors analysis,found that different gender prep student on campus significant differences to adapt to the situation,to boys in school,campus life,adapt to adapt to the situation of two dimensions is better than girls;Prep student on campus to adapt to the situation of different ages,there is no significant difference of different culture of preparatory student on campus significant differences to adapt to the situation,the americas and Asia central Asia group of students better adapt to the situation,and east South Asia southeast Asian group of students to adapt to the situation is bad,whole group of students to adapt to the situation in the medium level in Africa.The last chapter provide suggestions from three dimensions,it means campus international adaptation,academic adaptation,campus life adaptation.
