Taking Chinese dialects in Songpan County and Jiuzhaigou County, two minority areas located in Sichuan Province,as research subjects, this paper applies the study methods of Chinese dialectology, historical comparative linguistics and experimental phonetics to untangle and summarize phonetic systems within the two said counties.Series of conclusions have been drawn according to our researches on Songpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect.Firstly,as the surveys that we did in Jin'an Town,Zhenjiangguan Town entail,we believe that Songpan dialect is belong to,in fact,Chengyu of Southwestern Mandarin and is experienncing a constant change of pronounciation, and that some features of the initial consonants and finals is similar to other dialects in Minchi of Southwestern Mandarin.Secondly,Jiuzhaigou dialect belongs to Qinglong of Zhongyuan Mandarin and is under the influence of neighboring domain dialects.Thirdly, alveolar initials and retroflex initials are indeed different in Songpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect.Plus, the classifying features of mid-ancient initials of zhi(?)zhuang(?)and zhang(?)inthese two dialects are similar to the features of Zigong(Sichuan Province)dialect and Xichang(Sichuan Province)dialect instead of Beijing dialect.Last but not at least, the phonomenon of duan(?),jing(?)andjian(?)getting further mixed accordingly withinbothSongpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect shares a close connection to dialectal initial consonants and to the the phonetic features of [i](the high dorsal vowel). All in all, despite of the differences between Songpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect, the neighbouring domain dialect has shown quite an impact on both of them, making them similar with one another in terms of initials and consonants. There are six parts in this essay. The first part outlines not only relative research achievements but also the research methods for raw dialectal materials. The second part gives both synchronic introduction and diachronic introduction to the geographic location and developing history of Songpan dialect. Also,it describes the phonetic history and phonological features of Songpan dialect in details. The third part points out the geographic location, developing history, phonetic history and phonological features of Jiuzhaigou dialect. The fourth part compares the initial systems and finals system of both Songpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect separately, focusing upon analyzing the phenomenon of duan(?),jing(?)and jian(?)getting further mixed accordingly within both Songpan dialect and Jiuzhaigou dialect. The fifth part presents comparisons among Songpan dialect,Chengdu-Chongqing dialect and Minchi dialect. Then the last part is basically the conclusion of this whole essay.
