Study On The Phonetic System Of The Dialects In The Area Of Nanchong, Sichuan Provice

Based on the field investigation,this paper use a rigorous approach to dialect phonology and modern technological equipment after 1960.It arrange and analyze the phonetic system of seven dialects of Nanchong,including Heshu town of Pengan,Jichuan village of Yingshan,Shuangpan village of Yilong,Qingshi town of Xichong,Jintai town of Nanchong,Liyue village of Nanchong,Taoyuan village of Nanchong.The related theories and research methods of experimental phontics,phonology,the dialectology and historical linguistics will be applied in this thesis.In addition to Xichong,there are not so many research results in the region.This survey and research newly find that Liyue and Taoyuan speech of Nanchong are attributed to the indepenendent tone of Ru-Sheng which are surrounged by the tone of Yang-Ping.Furthermore,they retain some features about vowel of Ru-Sheng.These two dialects are not recorded both in the Sichuan Dialect Survey Report and in the Sichuan Dialect Phonology.The dialect in Nanchong of Sichuan Province belongs to southwest mandarin,but the speeches in these counties have their unique phonetic features besides the general features of Southwest mandarin.For example,in the seven counties,they have a common feature that the initials[k-?kh-?x-??-]can be together with-i(?)u.Such a feature is the"apicalization of the dorsal vowel[i]"in Qingshi speech of Xichong.Meanwhile,there is the phenomenon of retroflex that the initials[ts-?tsh-?s-]only can be together with[(?)].Moreover,the coda[-q]of some words has become to alveolar nasal coda[-n]and vice versa in Liyue and Taoyuan speech of Nanchong.Some phonetic features will be contrasted among Nanchong?"Huguang dialect"and "Nanlu dialect",including comparisons on initial,vowel,tone.We can draw a conclusion that the phonetic of Qingshi speech of' Xichong,Liyue and Taoyuan speech of Nanchong is different from "Huguang dialect" with some features of "Nanlu dialect".It has been crosswise affected by the "Huguang dialect"and "Beijing dialect"so that the dialect come into being the present phonetic form.This paper is divided into five part.The first part is introduction,including the dialectal classification,the research achievements and geographic information of the areas investigated,as well as the research methods and declaration of the symbols to be used in this thesis will be introduced in this part.The second part publishes the newly phonetic data of seven investigated towns with the description of their phonetic systems by using the methods of experimental phonetics.In part three,with the coordinates of Qieyun system,some phonetic features will be contrasted among Nanchong?Chengdu which is the representative of "Huguang dialect"and Chongzhou which is the representative of "Nanlu dialect",including comparisons on initial,vowel,tone.In part four,we applied the material of immigration history to further explore the ralation between the current status of dialects in Nanchong district and"Huguang fillig Sichuan".The fifth part is conclusion part.
