A Report On The Translation Of Master Purchase Agreement

This paper is a translation practice report,which aims to introduce the linguistic features of legal texts and summarize the corresponding translation strategies.The purchase contract plays an indispensable role in today’s economic and trade cooperation,and the contract translation has been paid more and more attention.The purchase agreement belongs to business contract,and also belongs to the category of legal texts.Therefore,the business contract has the linguistic features of the legal texts,namely,accuracy,objectiveness and fairness.The sentence structure of legal texts is strict and tight.This report consists of four sections,including the description of translation project,the translation process,the difficulty and strategy of translation and the summary of the translation practice.The third section,the most important part in the whole translation report,systematically introduces the features of vocabulary,sentence and discourse in the legal texts.On the basis of the analysis of the parallel texts and the translation principles,the translation report summarizes the corresponding translation strategies in the hope that they can provide enlightenments for the business contract translation.
