The Research On The Variant Characters Of Bamboo Slips Lao Zi Of Han Dynasty Collected By Peking University

Bamboo slips Lao Zi of Han Dynasty collected by Peking University(The Western Han Dynasty bamboo slips collected by Peking University volumeⅡ)is a complete rare copy which was written carefully and it can further enrich the research datas of Lao Zi variants.This article will compare bamboo slips Lao Zi of Han Dynasty collected by Peking University with silk books including the PARTY A and the PARTY B from a Han Dynasty tomb at Mawangdui,the Chu bamboo slips at Guodian and wangbi text.We will research on the correct characters and summarize the linguistic phenomenon on the basis of teasing out the relationship between these editions of Lao Zi in order to find out several laws of development of ancient Chinese.Thesis is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,we mainly introduce the concept of the variation and do a simple statement about variation research overview,general informations of Guodian LaoZi,Mawangdui Lao Zi and their variants’ studies of general situation.The profile of bamboo slips Lao Zi of Western Han Dynasty collected by Peking University and the current state of its variation research are emphatically introduced,explaining the value of this paper,materials and the method used in the paper in the end.The second part is the main part of this paper,We will list five versions’ characters by producing forms.Moreover we also indicate the rhyme and elaborate the relationship between the versions of Lao Zi after the table.In addition,we also discuss on the correct characters combining with the meaning of text.The variants are arranged by the alphabetic spelling.The third part is the preliminary summary about characters phenomenon of variant characters of Lao Zi.On the one hand,we provide a selective analysis of the remaining usage of chu characters in bamboo slips Lao Zi of Western Han Dynasty and the general features about word using convention.On the other hand assorting variant forms of Chinese characters,the differences of characters’ forms are summarized.The fourth part is the conclusion,the work that we sort out is summed up and we gain several critical thoughts in the process of writing,then pointing out the shortage of this paper.
