With the deepening of reform and opening up policy and the rapid development of science and technology, the acquirement and application of information has become a strong impetus to promote scientific and technological development and economic take-off.With constant science and technological scholastic exchange, come the activities of EST(English for Science and Technology)interpretation and its corresponding interpreters.Since the efficiency of gathering information in most possible short interval has been playing an increasingly vital role in modern world of research and practice, the task of interpretation on EST requires instantaneity, accuracy, spontaneity and fidelity, and the corpus of the EST must be prepared adequately and effectively in advance, which includes professional terminology, relevant phrases of expressions used particularly in documents of literature on respective disciplinary subjects, and such applicable strategies as sentence segmentation, information reconstruction and the sequential adjustment of single sentences in differentiated paragraphs, which are all superficially suitable for the production of the target language, except for related accidents or errors occurred in some occasions and so forth. Moreover, its characteristics have a strong implication of the linguistic aspects of standardization for the generation of speech flow followed by semantics of various statements of mutation whilst the spokesman had difficulties forming his logic of preliminary chunks of words or the interpreter had problems understanding the given glossary from the spokesmen and the audiences. Therefore, the EST interpretation involves six basic traits when it comes with rhetoric, syntax and pragmatics:accuracy, clarity, fidelity, pellucidity, standardability and simplicity. The reproduction of the source language in the form of long and complicated sentences is often a challenge for interpreters, whose foundation of knowledge ought to be very solid and the techniques used on stage of real-time reaction and implementation to emergencies must be decisive and sophisticated. This thesis mainly lays an emphasis on respective strategies employed in EST.It comes in four fundamental sections, and each section has different aspects of specific explanation in the sequence of task description, task preparation, task process, task evaluation, theoretical framework and enumerated examples in accordance with summary and remarks, hoping to demonstrate the effectiveness of relative strategy employment and to provide strong and available guidance to the interpreters in EST fields of research to some shallow degree. And in the meantime, most importantly,it has a clear relationship with interpretive theory and cognitive theory practice model proposed by Daniel Gile with a strong support from typical instances manifested in the thesis, which are earnestly in need of further suggestion and recommendation of sincere and considerate comments from later personnel who are to participate in such activities in terms of revision of the standpoint originated from the analyses themselves.
