A Simulated Chinese-english Simultaneous Interpreting Practice Report On The Information Processing Strategy Under The Guidance Of Interpretive Theory

China Basketball Association is China’s highest-level basketball tournament.This competition plays a pivotal role in showing the style of Chinese men’s basketball and promoting the "going global strategy" of Chinese basketball culture.In 2018-2019 China Basketball Association,Guangdong Hongyuan Men’s Basketball Club won the championship with its superb skills、tactics and cooperation,showing the new look of the Chinese men’s basketball team.Therefore,this practice report takes the competition of Guangdong Hongyuan Men’s Basketball as an example and selects six of them as the research sample in order to deepen the understanding of Chinese basketball culture for other countries around the world and help promote the vigorous development of China Basketball Association.Through this practice,the interpreter finds that solving the problem of information processing is the key to improve the quality of the translation and effectively transmitting the information in simultaneous interpretation.In this translation process,the difficulties of information processing problems are mainly reflected in large amounts of information、 missing information and unclear information logic order.In order to overcome such problems in practice,the translators uses interpretive theory to find corresponding solutions: to start with,the classification of technical terms and basketball rules can effectively improve the understanding of meaning of source information;then,analyzing the original context、 finding out the logical relationship between the information expressed by the speaker and the discourse;finally,breaking away from the restrictions of the language shell to re-expression、make supplement of missing information and integrate logic order,which can effectively solve the problems caused by lacking original text information and unclear logic order.And it can achieve the goal of transmitting the meaning of the source language effectively.This practical report focuses on effective strategies for dealing with information processing problems in simultaneous interpretation.It is hoped that it can provide countermeasures for basketball interpreting practice in the future.
