In this paper,we selected three sets of elementary Chinese listening textbooks “Chinese Elementary Listening Course” “Chinese Listening Course “and “Upper Elementary Listening and Speaking “as the object of study.We compared the exercise quantity,style and content then summed up the advantages and disadvantages to let the teachers and students know the function and emphasis of the textbook clearly when they are selecting or using textbooks.We also hope the study could provide some valuable suggestions on textbook writing.In this paper,we made statistics on the three sets of textbooks on the exercise quantity,style and content,also we distributed questionnaires to the user of the textbook and analyzed the statistical results and survey results.It is found that the form of exercises in textbooks is developing in the direction of diversification,and learners prefer comprehensive exercises that can not only receive listening materials but also can speak them out.In addition,the learner is interested in the subject matter,which is related to daily life.Finally,based on the analysis of the textbook exercises and the result of the questionnaire,this paper provide related suggestions of the arrangement of exercise in elementary Chinese listening textbooks on the principle of exercise writing and amount of exercise and question types of exercises.
