Textbooks are the basis for teachers to organize the teaching and students to learn.A good textbook is very important to improve the quality of teaching.With the deepening of theoretical research on teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the development of listening teaching practice,many intermediate listening textbooks for TCSL have been published.However,there are some problems in the using of listening textbooks.For example,it has happened that insufficient training in textbook exercises and the lack of interest in textbook exercises.Intermediate listening class of TCSL is a skill training course.The improvement of students' listening skills and the acquisition of linguistic knowledge are achieved through exercises.Therefore the quality of exercises has a profound impact on listening teaching.Therefore,this paper will choose two representative intermediate listening textbooks for TCFL as the research object,and mainly compare the exercises design of two sample textbooks in term of exercises layout,exercises quantity,exercises type and training content.In addition,through the analysis of the real data obtained from the questionnaire survey,I hope it can help to deepen the research of this paper.Through the analysis and the summary,this paper holds that the design of textbooks' exercises can refer to the following suggestions: First,the exercise layout of each lesson in the textbook can be divided into three parts: before listening,during listening and after listening.The design of exercises should mainly focus on objective exercises,and set up appropriate exercises to train students' oral expression ability.The exercises should not only be large enough,but also be designed evenly.Secondly,when we design the training content of textbooks' exercises,in terms of skill training,the design emphasis of skill training should be on generalization,monitoring,memory storage and associative guessing.The design of the remaining four micro-skills can be flexibly arranged.These five types of exercises have powerful training function in skill training,such as choosing the correct answer,answering the question after listening,true or false,filling in the blanks and filling in the form and chart.As for linguistic knowledge learning,this paper argues that the exercises of linguistic knowledge learning is more appropriately designing in the pre-listening and post-listening stages.Pre-listening exercises can refer to the exercises of conquering new words in the sample textbook and contrastive dictation exercises.Post-listening exercises can be designed to summarize or retell the main content of the listening text with new words.
