Classroom environment is a summation of various factors,which exerts tremendous influence on the teachers' teaching and students' learning directly or indirectly during the process of classroom teaching.It plays a central role in the learning process of the students.Meanwhile,the cultivation of the students' autonomous learning ability is one of the research focuses in education for its great realistic significance.Many researchers have proven that a favorable classroom environment,that is,social environment and psychological environment,can promote students' English autonomous ability(Anderson,2004;Patric,2007;Lizijian,2010;LiuYongBin,2012;Li GuangFen,2014).However,the present research on correlation between classroom environment and students' English autonomous learning ability of technical college is quite limited.This study aims at studying the correlation between classroom environment(social factors,psychological factors and physical factors)and students' English autonomous learning ability of technical college so as to probe the specific methods of creating favorable classroom environment to enhance the students' English autonomous learning ability.The author collected data from 200 students of a technical university in Xi'an,based on the research method of questionnaire survey and interview.All the data is analyzed through SPSS20.0.The results reveal that students' perception of classroom environment is in good condition;students' English autonomous learning ability is at a moderate level;classroom environment is correlated with the students' Englishautonomous learning ability,and the social psychological factors of classroom environment has a positive correlation with students' English autonomous learning ability;in addition,the specific social psychological factors like the support of the teacher,peer relation,class participation,students' responsibility influence all the dimensions of English autonomous learning ability.Finally,some suggestions on English teaching are given.
