The Study Of Hakka Vocabulary

Hakka is a dialect book published in 1920 s that records Hakka dialect vocabularies.The monograph is divided into twelve chapters,included the majority of the basic vocabularies,which involves physical geography,humanistic society,provides a good model for later generations learning and researching.This article makes arrangements and preliminary analysis from five parts.The first part summarizes the author and editions handed down,feature of content.At the end of this part,we have integrated achievements approached in the research about Hakka and sketched the research purpose.The second part,we have introduced recording words and its compiling ways in the case of discussing normal words and professional words arrangement.The third part,we have confirmed the definition and judgment standard of the cognate words in the Hakka,classified and proved in accordance with author's narration.Part four,classified and researched heterography words in the Hakka according to single syllable and double syllables,concluded the forming reasons.Part five,discussed its merits and demerits,affirmed the value in the additions to Chinese Dialects Dictionary.Through the study,we have not only acquired a clear information about content of Hakka as well as vocabulary phenomena,but also supplied some meaningful advise for later student and researchers' explanations.
