Transition is the common relationship in human logical thinking and transitional complex sentences is the general sentence pattern in many languages all over the world, which is extensively applied to both written language and oral communication. In Chinese, the transitional complex sentence is in various forms and abundant logical connotations. The practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language indicates that, transitional complex sentence is one of the learning focuses as well as difficulties of foreign students.By means of experiment and interview, combining with Chinese ontology research, acquisition research and cognition related research, this paper analyzes senior foreign students' cognition of Chinese transitional complex sentence, and discusses about the influence of transition type and transitional semantics degree on foreign students' understanding of Chinese transitional complex sentence. The results show that, with respect to medium-level foreign students, the two factors of transition type and transitional semantics degree act separately,so that medium-level foreign students judge the degree of sentence transition according to one of the factors;but senior foreign students can judge by using two factors simultaneously.Meanwhile,it is found that,in the condition of judging sudden transitional sentence and complex sentence with transition in sequence, only when transitional semantics degree is high that the characteristic of sharing conjunction in complex sentence with transition can reinforce the transitional meaning of entire sentence.
