Study On The Language Use And Variation Of Yue Dialect Used By The Group Of Returned Overseas Chinese From Cát Bà

The Yue dialect daily used by the group of Returned Overseas Chinese from Cát Bà has the basis of Guangfu and DanJia dialect,and with some foreign characteristics.Affected by the Vietnamese exclusion,they were forced to return home and concentrate in Qiaogang,Beihai city of Guangxi Province,which has been nearly 40 years.The change of language environment before and after returning to China may affect their use of Yue dialect.The language life of Returned Overseas Chinese and their descendants and the variation of their mother tongue are worthy of attention.This article takes Cát Bà Yue dialect as the main research object,the field investigation of traditional dialects and the quantitative research methods of Sociolinguistics combined,which grasp the language life of Cát Bà returned Chinese in macro-perspective,to discuss the similarities and differences of Cát Bà Yue dialect in pronunciation and vocabulary between generations from the micro level,with a view to a more intuitive understanding of the usage and language variation trends of Yue dialect of the Cát Bà,in an attempt to show the process of language inheritance,integration and development among generations.The main body of the thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the general situation of this paper.The second chapter,from the three aspects of language skills,language use and language attitude,to understand the language life of Cát Bà returned Chinese.In the third chapter,on the basis of summarizing the phonetic features between generations of the Cát Bà Yue dialect,the author makes a quantitative study on the representative phonetic features with obvious variation,to further analyze the phonetic variation.The fourth chapter,combined with field investigation and quantitative research results,from the perspective of inheritance,integration and development,to explore the variation of the basic vocabulary and the characteristic vocabulary.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the full text,and points out the shortcomings of this study and the prospects for future research.The research shows that Yue Dialect is the most important communication language of Returned Overseas Chinese from Cát Bà.The trend of their pronunciation and vocabulary integration into local mainstream Yue dialect is quite obvious,their vocabulary is also influencedby the common language of Mandarin,the characteristics of Guangfu and DanJia dialect,and foreign culture are rapidly running away.
