"Shi......de" sentence has been widely used in modern Chinese and the main pragmatic function is emphasize.However,owing to the differences between Chinese and English culture,it’s difficult for native English speakers to learn "shi......de" sentence.According to the HSK dynamic composition corpus,"shi......de" sentence’s error rate is the highest in pragmatic errors,so it is a key and difficult point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.By checking the exiting research on "shi......de" sentence,I find out that the research can’t refine the corresponding problem to the specific learners.Besides there are few research results about the errors of native English speakers,so the author carries out an investigation from the prospective of native English speakers’ errors on "shi......de" sentence to find out targeted learning methods and make a difference in instructional design.This paper consists of five parts.Firstly,the author introduces the reason and significance of the topic,the scope of the study,the research methods and the previous research results.Secondly,the author analyzes declarative and interrogative sentences’ "shi......de" structure as well as summarizes the Chinese and English emphatic sentences with "shi......de" to deduce the error problems of the native English speakers.Thirdly,taking some Australian learners as the object of study,the author obtains the first-hand basic data through a questionnaire survey and analyzes "shi......de" sentence’s error types and reasons of native English speakers by comparing with the HSK dynamic composition corpus.Then,the author focuses on the design and practice of "shi......de" sentence in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Teachers adopt comprehensive and entertaining teaching methods as well as strengthen the applicability of language learning in the pre-class,class and after-class instructional design.Finally,the author designs a teaching plan to reflect the practical significance of the research.
