For translation studies,numerous experts and scholars in translation circle at home and abroad have already got fruitful achievements.In recent years,the Eco-translatology put forward by Hu Gengshen opens a new path to translation studies.As one kind of social behavior on the basis of cross language and cross culture,translating,including interpreting,has a very close relation with interpreter’s ethics.Previous studies on translation ethics are most from professional integrity,cultural ideology,or practice rules aspects.This thesis is mainly to explore the translation ethics of interpreters by studying the consecutive interpreting data for six celebrities,Wang Yi,Li Keqiang,Li Yuanchao,Hillary Clinton,Wen Jiaobao and Bai Yansong form six consecutive interpreting activities with different topics in different occasions such as Two Session press conferences,Nelson Mandela’s memorial service,dinner banquet address for the China-US SED,speech in Yale University,etc.The method of descriptive analysis will be used in this thesis.Under the guidance of three principles of eco-translation ethics,namely the principles of "balance and harmony","multiple eco-integration","translator responsibility",and starting form interpreter’s handling of the source utterances,this thesis focuses on the embodiment of eco-translation ethics of interpreters in process of interpreting.The result of this study shows that the interpreter’s ethics mainly lies in dealing with their relations with interpreting environment and relative people,not only including conveying the meaning of the source text,but also including the balance of source-target language ecology,integration of language,culture and communication,as well as ensurance of textual transplantation and interpreting product quality.Finally,it is hoped that this study would make interpreter’s ethics and rules clear and identify their position and role in interpreting ecology,so as to contribute to the future theoretical and empirical study of interpretation.
