Gender differences in mathematics studying has been one of an essential task of research field in mathematical education.It is also one of a focus between amount of specialists and educators who pay attention on it in the filed of education.Since the nineties of the 20 th century International commission on mathematical instruction(ICMI)has held a meeting for many times,specializing in ‘education between gender and mathematics' and in gender differences of learning mathematics in senior high school.The most influential evaluation item of international students in 21century---PISA,It has the analysis results of mathematics learning between girls and boys.In educational and instructional practice,we heard a kind of viewpoint frequently that was mentioned by some parents and teachers,that is,boys in learning mathematics are more excellent than girls.this kind of cognition influence students' studying especially in girls.In order to have a better cognition in the current situation of gender differences in mathematics learning among fresh students of senior high school in Yantai.In this paper,on the foundation of current results of gender differences in mathematics.I also have combined with the characteristic of mathematics and selected the test sample questions of PISA.Testing in one of a senior high school which I selected two class among the fresh students.With the help of evaluation data,analyzing the differences between girls and boys in learning mathematics.What's more,I also made a questionnaire that aiming at researching the differences between drive in learning ? the way to learn and self-belief.Finally the results show that the gender differences in learning mathematics is existing.Although there is no difference in the total grade in learning mathematics,while,in different filed of learning,there are some differences in gender.The greatest difference is the filed of space and shape.Also,there are some obvious differences in self-belief and the way to learn between girls and boys.These differences are caused by the factor of physiology,intelligence and non-intelligence between girls and boys in senior high school.According to the characteristics of intelligence development between boys and girls and the influential factors listed,This paper has pointedly made some effective strategy in three aspects for developing advantages and changing the disadvantages,providing references forteaching students in accordance of their aptitude.Firstly,changing the gender impression of teachers and setting a correct view in differences are the priority.Secondly,based on the characteristics between boys and girls,developing the way of education that teaching students in accordance of their aptitude.At last,in learning mathematics,this paper encourages coorperation in boys and girls and to learn from other's strong points to offset one's weakness,as a consequence,to get mutual improvements.
