Rural children left behind has been a concern of the Government. The State Council issued a special care of strengthening protection of rural children left behind,in February 14,2016.Many existing researches concerned about the negative development of left-behind children, leading the children were regarded as 'problem' and 'stigma'.However, the facts have proved that many left-behind children grow into a positive, optimistic, confident and capable people. The difficult were not as people expect would defect the children. With the development of positive psychology, researchers began to explore the factor of protection of the healthy growth of children left-behind to improve social adaptability of them. Therefore concerning about the left-behind children's resilience was particularly important.Studies had shown that resilience was good for the children to overcome the disadvantage situation of the absence of parents, enhanced children's ability to cope with the difficulties. But now many studies ignored the growth of children was a continuous, dynamic development process. With the guidance of development situation theory,we used the'resilience scale','life satisfaction scale' and 'pro-social behavior scale' to investigate the children transiting from primary school to junior high school. In order to clarify the development of children's resilience and its interaction with the relevant factors, the investigation continued three times, every 6 months took a time.Through the research we hoped to help the left-behind children to rise the reveal of resilience, improve their mental health. The result showed that:(1)The boys' resilience significantly higher than girls' in each survey.(2)The resilience of rural junior middle school students was steady in the three time points, but there was a significant downward trend at T3 time point.(3)There are significant individual differences in the resilience of junior middle school students in each period, but gender were not the reason for the differences.(4)On the whole, there is a causal relationship between resilience and social adaptation. It is found that resilience and social adaptation are basically causal relationship when the group was separated into girls and boys.
