Based on the transmission of oil pumping unit and combined with the advantages of a large permanent magnet motor outputing torque, low speed, this paper designed a special outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor with pumping tower matrix as its substrate. It enables direct drive pumping and can effectively overcome the disadvantage of long transmission chain length, energy consumption and short stroke. Taking into account the performance of pumping applications, this paper built an external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor with 80 poles 90 slots and round speed 25r/min, this paper discusses the the design ideas and methods for mechanical and electrical machine design.Based on the design and calculation of magnetic circuit method and the elements related to the motor used, this paper established the geometric parameter model of the rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor and analyzed the parameter and electromagnetic field using ANSYS Maxwell software. The performance of the magnetic flux distribution, voltage, current and output torque under the no-load and rated conditions were researched. The FEA on the maximum of the permanent magnet demagnetization performance was done. Based on magnetic circuit method and the data from the finite element calculation the optimized electromagnetic scheme was determined. Based on relevant mechanical knowledge this paper designed the mechanical structure of the motor including the main shaft, coiling block and other major components. This paper analyzed multiple braking schemes based on the newly designed motor. The three-dimensional model was established and the principle prototype of a external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor was produced using 3D printers.Considering the practical environment of the motor used and the factors that influence the vibration of a external rotor permanent magnet motor the flux density waveform under different working conditions were calculated by using finite element method(fem) and the motor radial electromagnetic force was obtained. The radial electromagnetic force every harmonic wave was calculated according to Fourier transform and the harmonic components which had a large effect on the vibration of the motor was analyzed. The modal analysis of the motor structure was carried out by ANSYS Workbench software and the natural frequency and the type of vibration of the motor were obtained. In comparison with the electromagnetic wave, this particle found out the harmonic which may affect the vibration of motor.The research results provide a significant theoretical and practical reference for understanding and mastering the design of the outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor, finite element analysis of the electromagnetic field and the vibration of the permanent magnet motor.
